Lock-and-Leave Mountain Living
Not less house. Less to take care of. Your villa is ready whether you're home every day or away for a month — so your weekends, and your time, are finally yours.
The owners who chose Reynolds Mountain in our first phase weren't looking for a getaway. They live here, full time, on the mountain — and they were ready to be done with ladders, gutters, and Saturday yard work, not with the life they'd built. That's the real appeal: not less house, just less to take care of. The square footage stays. The views stay. The chores don't.
And the time doesn't sit empty. It goes back to the things the house used to eat — a tee time, a morning ride into the Blue Ridge, a Saturday that's finally your own. And it goes to people: with three and four bedrooms, the grandkids have somewhere to land, and friends stop passing through and start staying the weekend. That's usually the trade-off when you let go of the big house — losing the room to host the people you love. Here, there isn't one.
The how is simple. Every exterior surface, every common area, every inch of the more than seven acres of green space is maintained by the HOA. And when you do travel, your home doesn't need you while you're gone — true lock-and-leave living, for people who actually live here.
This isn't a token HOA. Reynolds Mountain's homeowners association maintains everything outside your front door — and funds it properly.
Roofing, siding, painting, and structural maintenance are all covered. Buchanan Construction builds to a 10-year Quality Builders Warranty standard, and the HOA maintains that standard for the life of the community.
Over 7 acres of green space including a fenced dog park with benches, a network of mulched trails, and an active reforestation program — all professionally maintained. Landscape design by Jason & Julie Gilliland of Site Design Studios.
The HOA maintains 100% funded reserves — meaning the money for future maintenance is already set aside. No surprise special assessments. No deferred maintenance. Your investment is protected by financial discipline, not optimism.
The Summit Collection prohibits short-term rentals under 28 days. Your neighbors are owners, not a revolving door of weekend visitors. This protects your quality of life and your property values.
Why Reynolds Mountain
Most lock-and-leave buyers have already owned the big house. The custom home with the yard that consumed every weekend. The view property that required a property manager. Reynolds Mountain is the correction — luxury without the overhead.
These are townhome villas, not condos — and not a row of townhomes. Each building contains just two homes sharing a single wall, with no shared walls above or below. That means natural light on three sides, cross-ventilation, and a sense of space that traditional row-style townhomes cannot match. Buchanan's superior sound insulation on that one shared wall means you'll forget it's there. You own the land beneath your home, a private garage, a deck overlooking the Blue Ridge, and 7+ acres of community green space that nobody has to mow.
Many lock-and-leave buyers default to condos. Here's why a townhome villa is the better answer — especially on a mountain.
More Than a Backyard
The central park at Reynolds Mountain is the single strongest argument for this product type. Where else in North Asheville can you step out your door and into 7+ acres of maintained green space — with a fenced dog park, a mulched trail network connecting all residential areas to Reynolds Village, and an active reforestation program restoring the mountain's native canopy?
And it's about to get better. Buncombe County is investing $16.3 million in the Beaverdam Creek Greenway — a multi-use trail that will connect directly to the base of Reynolds Mountain and run to the French Broad River. The county is building a trail to your doorstep.
Asheville Regional Airport is 25 minutes from Reynolds Mountain. Six airlines serve 20+ nonstop destinations — connecting you to Florida, the Northeast, the Midwest, Texas, and beyond.
All flights are nonstop and direct from Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), 25 minutes from Reynolds Mountain. Carriers include American, Delta, United, JetBlue, Allegiant, and Sun Country. Check airlines for current schedules and seasonal availability.
“The best luxury isn't what you have to take care of. It's what takes care of itself.”
Two Collections, One Mountain
The Summit Collection is an enclave of eight luxury paired villas on the upper slopes of Reynolds Mountain — three floor plans from 1,852 to 2,251 sq ft, with panoramic westward views. Every villa includes a private garage, deck, and Buchanan Construction finishes throughout.
The Meadow Collection brings 28 additional villas ascending the mountain in phased tiers — each gaining elevation, views, and premium finishes. It is the next phase of Reynolds Mountain living.
All exterior maintenance — roofing, siding, painting, landscaping, snow removal, and common areas including over 7 acres of green space, a fenced dog park, and the mulched trail network. The HOA maintains 100% funded reserves, so there are no surprise special assessments.
Yes. Most owners live here full time and simply travel often — to visit family, take a long-planned trip, or get away for a while. Because the HOA handles the exterior year-round, you can lock the door and go without arranging a thing. AVL airport is 25 minutes away with nonstop flights to Florida, the Northeast, and major hubs.
You own the land beneath your villa — not just the airspace. Each building contains just two homes sharing a single wall, with no shared walls above or below. That's not a row of townhomes — it's a paired villa with natural light on three sides. You have a private garage, a private deck with mountain views, and over 7 acres of community green space. It's townhome privacy with condo-level maintenance convenience.
The Summit Collection does not permit short-term rentals under 28 days. This protects your investment, your privacy, and the residential character of the community. Your neighbors are fellow owners, not weekend visitors.
Buchanan Construction provides a Quality Builders Warranty covering structural components for 10 years. It's a third-party warranty backed by one of Western North Carolina's most respected builders — not a developer promise on a handshake.
