March 2025 Construction update from JJ Posey, Superintendent, Buchanan Construction

Welcome to our most recent construction update! We’re diving into the progress across four buildings currently underway for Storybook Villas at Reynolds Mountain. From foundation pours to framing stages, there’s a lot happening, and we’re excited to share the progress with you. In this video, you’ll see Buildings 15, 16, 17, and 18 at various stages of development—each with unique features and upgrades. Let’s break it down!

Building 15 A & B: Foundation Work & Premium Upgrades

We kick things off at Building 15, split into units 15A and 15B. This is where the groundwork is literally being laid! The slab here is prepped and ready for inspection, and scheduled. You’ll notice the waterproofing along the walls—a key feature to keep groundwater out, tied into a drainage system beneath the slab. This ensures these homes stay dry and solid for years to come.

Inside, these units are getting some serious upgrades. Think epoxy flooring in the garage of 15A, stained concrete on the lower floors, and unique tile selections that set these homes apart. The lower level boasts a bedroom and flex space, while the main entry is on the upper floor—your driveway leads right in. Plus, there’s a backstop and outdoor space perfect for relaxing. Stay tuned as this one moves forward!

Building 16 B: Framing Stage & Next Steps

Next up, Building 16B is in the framing phase, and it’s buzzing with activity! This week, the crew is finishing the outer walls, and the garage slab is set to be poured. By next week, the roof system goes up—bringing us one step closer to the interior work. Once that’s done, our plumbers, HVAC, and electrical teams will swoop in for the rough-in process.

The main living level here promises stunning views (you’ll see them up close in a future update!), and since 16B is a step ahead of Building 15, expect to see similar progress there in just a couple of weeks. It’s all coming together beautifully!

Building 17 A & B: Foundation Kickoff

Over at Building 17 (A & B), we’re just getting started. The green light came last week to begin the foundation walls, and within the next couple of weeks, this site will mirror the progress you see at Building 15 right now. The crew has been crushing it, and once this stage wraps up, we’ll double-check all structural elements to ensure everything’s perfect. This building is on track to rise quickly—stay tuned for more!

Building 18: Three Stories of Awesome

Saving the best for last—Building 18 is a three-story gem with what might just be the best view in the entire project. The waterproofing is complete, and the slab was poured yesterday, putting us a few days ahead of schedule (score!). This entry-level garage and basement setup includes stairways and an elevator leading to the upper two floors—talk about luxury!

Next, we’ll start framing and backfilling to bring this beauty to life. With its prime location and thoughtful design, Building 18 is one to watch.

The Big Picture: On Track for Fall 2025

From foundation work to framing and site fixes (like tackling sewer line issues), these four buildings showcase a clear progression. My goal? Deliver all four by mid-to-late September or early October 2025. With the momentum we’ve got, I’m confident we’re off to a solid start.

What do you think of the progress? Drop your thoughts in the comments, and don’t forget to like, subscribe, and hit that bell for more updates as we bring these homes to life. See you in the next one!

Secure your reservation today, move in by Autumn 2025 and enjoy the fall season, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in your new home.

A Sure Foundation

You may be asking how Storybook Villas fared during Hurricane Helene?  With days of rain fall and strong winds, many  wondered how the property would endure the stormy conditions. Fortunately, our concerns were met with relief and a hint of surprise: Storybook Villas emerged from the hurricane unscathed, demonstrating the importance of careful planning and quality construction.  Our property did not suffer any damage, and there was no significant runoff. The experience underscored the importance of choosing the right construction team from the ground up. Quality craftsmanship and strategic planning are key elements in ensuring the resilience of any development, and Storybook Villas stands as a testament to this principle, especially in a terrain where almost every home is built on some kind of slope. People love the mountains and the views, especially the long range sweeping panoramic views they will have from Storybook. Ensuring safety is paramount and that begins at the ground level.

An Investment in Quality

As we continue building, Storybook Villas presents a compelling investment opportunity that remains steadfast in delivering value especially now as we face unprecedented construction demand.  Here are several reasons why investing in Storybook is a smart decision:

  1. Unmatched Craftsmanship: The homes at Storybook Villas will be built with high-quality materials and based on floor plans where every detail of lifestyle has been considered. This ensures not only aesthetic appeal but also longevity, making them valuable assets for generations of homeowners.
  2. Solid Ground: This proven mountainside property has been designed with resilience and sustainability in mind. Building on a solid foundation – both literally and figuratively – contributes to the long-term desirability of these homes.
  3. Timeless Value: The Asheville real estate market shows that values tend to hold steady, even in uncertain times as they did through the 201 financial crisis and 2020 Covid-19.   Homes in well-planned communities, like Storybook, are more likely to appreciate in value over the years.
  4. Buy at Today’s Prices: With the current market fluctuations, buying now at today’s prices offers a unique opportunity for a few. Potential homeowners can secure a desirable property before prices and cost of construction and materials rise.
  5. Move-In Ready for the 2025 Holidays: With construction of our first phase well under way, new residents can look forward to moving into their dream townhomes just in time for the 2025 holiday season. Envision celebrating the holidays in a stunning new home, surrounded by the beauty of Reynolds Mountain and long range views of over 500,000 acres of Pisgah National Forest.
